Gaz cycles a lot on the Island. He cycled from Stornoway to Tarbert in under two hours the other day. According to Google Maps that's 36.1 miles and takes 59 minutes in a car. And if an average of 18 m.p.h. doesn't sound enough it's worth noting that apart from the normal (i.e. 90 feet) changes in elevation along various parts of the route there is a hill of 189 metres to be climbed. 189 metres is 620ft 61⁄64in. Scriptor would have problems with the 61⁄64 of an inch nowadays!
